Privacy Statement The Airmen’s Stories – Sgt. W H Mott
Walter Henry Mott was born on 4th April 1910 and joined the RAFVR about May 1939 as an Airman u/t Aircrew. Called up on 1st September 1939, he completed his training as an Air Gunner and joined 141 Squadron at Turnhouse on 21st August 1940.
Mott was flying with P/O AD Meredith in a Defiant on 6th May 1941. They intercepted, attacked and destroyed a He111 near Cresswell, Northumberland.
Commissioned in December 1942, Mott retired from the RAF on 30th May 1964 as a Squadron Leader.
