Privacy Statement The Airmen’s Stories – Sgt. W S Dossett
William Stanley Dossett was born on 1st November 1919 and joined the RAF about December 1938 as an Aircrafthand.
He remustered as an Airman u/t WOp/AG and was serving with 29 Squadron by 1st May 1940 as an Aircraftsman. He was promoted to Sergeant in June.
On 26th July 1940 Dossett was posted to 105 Squadron at Watton, a Blenheim day-bomber unit.
In 1942 he was serving with 107 Squadron, operating in Bostons from Great Massingham, Norfolk. He was awarded the DFM (gazetted 22nd September 1942).
Commissioned in August 1942, Dossett retired from the RAF on 22nd May 1954 as a Flight Lieutenant.
He later went to live in Australia and died in 1997.
