Privacy Statement The Airmen’s Stories – Sgt. J W Allison
Jack Whitwell Allison of Eltham, London joined the RAFVR in November 1938 as an Airman u/t Pilot. Called up on 1st September 1939, he was with 41 Squadron in July 1940. On the 8th he shared in destroying a Ju88.
In September Allison was posted to 611 Squadron, staying only for a few weeks before moving to 92 Squadron at Digby on 27th October. Commissioned in August 1941, Allison was killed on 15th October 1942, serving with 32 MU as a Flying Officer.
Mosquito II DD784 broke up in the air over Pen-y-Coedcae in Glamorganshire. F/Lt. CMB Symons was also killed.
Allison was 26 and was cremated at Pontypridd Crematorium, Glamorganshire.
